Cops told of rogue: Call girl
OFFICER WAS EXTORTING FREE SEX FROM HOOKERS, 'SHEMALE' ALLEGES TO SUN
By ALAN CAIRNS, TORONTO SUN
TRANSSEXUAL hookers told Toronto Police years ago that a cop was extorting free sex from them, a "shemale" call girl told The Toronto Sun yesterday. The officer allegedly coerced her into free sex by showing his badge, the shemale said.
"I know girls that were scared to go to work because of him," said the transsexual, who asked for anonymity because she fears reprisals from renegade cops.
But it appears the transsexual complaints were buried until last year when a 52 Division cop came to the attention of an organized crime probe.
The officer's alleged affair with the street-level transsexual sex trade began about 10 years ago, the shemale said.
At the same time, he frequented gay bars in the so-called "gay ghetto" on Church St. and was frequently seen watching "show girls" at bars like Woody's and Crews.
"A lot of the girls thought he was cute. He is sociable. I don't think he is a bad person, but he used his badge for his own purposes ... and he shouldn't have done that," the shemale said.
"He was having sex with me once ... I asked him for the fee ... he said he would not give me a ticket if I did it," she said.
The shemale said she refused and he allegedly gave her a summons for soliciting.
"Three or four of us went to court at College Park and he hadn't even filed the charges," the shemale said.
The issue was raised along with other concerns in a meeting with the Toronto Police Service Board's lesbian-gay-bi-trans liaison committee, she said.
The officer's "name came up ... the outreach worker was getting all kinds of complaints ... that he was demanding sex. She brought it up to the liaison committee and they took it to the internal affairs unit," the shemale said. "After about six months, they said they didn't have enough evidence," the shemale said.
Two other shemales told The Toronto Sun that while they did not recognize the officer as a client, other officers had shown their badges and demanded free sex. One said three officers had hit on her for free sex; the other said two cops had shown their badges.
